Council hears update on city manager search

Elizabethton’s city council received guidance on the future search for a new city manager from a consultant with the Municipal Technical Advisory Service Wednesday afternoon.
Council will need to select a new city manager because the current city manager Fred Edens will be retiring Jan. 4.
Municipal Management Consultant Pat Hardy informed council there were three main ways for cities to conduct searches for city managers. Cities can conduct the search themselves, hire a recruiting firm or have MTAS complete the search.
