County 911 facing new emergency call

After circumventing a financial meltdown, the Carter County 911 board of directors appears to be facing another crisis: deciding what to do with a building in poor condition.

The board of directors just recently reached agreements with the city of Elizabethton, Carter County and the Carter County Rescue Squad regarding funding, which will be used to pay dispatchers.

The building housing those dispatchers and all of the organization’s equipment appears to be in need of significant repairs, Chairman Matt Bailey said Wednesday.
