With Christmas now past, any noise filtering from up on the rooftop into Carter County’s courtrooms can no longer be blamed on the guy with the reindeer.
So county officials and contractors have set parameters in place to rein-in noise from an ongoing roofing project so it doesn’t interfere with daily operations at the Courthouse Annex.
Carter County Mayor Leon Humphrey said he met with Judge John Walton, Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes, representatives from architectural firm Reedy and Sykes and contractor Morristown Roofing a week before Christmas to discuss the possibility of construction disrupting court proceedings.
“It is going to be a problem during the demolition phase,” Humphrey said.
