County woman celebrating birthday arrested on domestic assault charge

A Carter County man says he was assaulted by his wife on her birthday.

Debra Yourgulez, 54, 192 Dalewood Road, Johnson City, was arrested by Carter County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Brian Smithpeters early Friday morning.

The deputy said he was called to 192 Dalewood Road on the report of a domestic assault and observed the victim, Ernest Yourgulez, outside. The man had blood on his head and neck and a laceration on the back of his head, the deputy said.
