Elizabethton’s freshman hoops squad rode a big wave of first-half momentum created by its three-pronged scoring attack, and did just enough down the stretch inside to best the Unicoi County Blue Devils 55-47 in super Tuesday hardwood action from West Side Elementary’s gymnasium.
E-town’s triple-headed scoring monster excelled to the tune of 30 first-half points. Forward Colton Chambers and center Conley Bowers owned the paint while forward Bo Pless (13 pts.) showcased his jumpshot on the perimeter with two treys.
A beautiful spin in the paint between two defenders from Chambers with 2:40 on the first half clock completed a 12-2 Orange & Black run and led to a 31-20 advantage at the break.
