The Elizabethton High boys soccer squad has been a bit like the weather in March — unpredictable. Two losses and a draw thus far is not a complete indicator of where the Cyclones will be, or how they will look in May, but facing a tough schedule, they will certainly be tested.
“The opportunities have been there for us, but we haven’t finished,” said Cyclones head coach Bill McClay. “I would say, right now, our biggest area of improvement is in finishing plays. In the South game, we had a lot of opportunities early, but gave up an easy one before the half.
“That’s similar to the goal we gave up against Cosby. In two of the three games, I think personally that we were the better team. The only place it’s believable is on the scoreboard.”
