Cyclones avenge loss to Sullivan East

The Elizabethton Cyclones boys basketball team learned a valuable lesson from December’s loss to Sullivan East at the Patriot Palace, and that is you’d better bring the intensity and the defensive effort from the opening tip.

Both missions were accomplished on Thursday night at John Treadway Gymnasium as EHS dominated the Patriots 49-34 in Three Rivers Conference action. Back before Christmas, the Cyclones fell 64-59 to East in a tough game that saw the Pats jump out quickly to a halftime advantage and hold off a late EHS charge.

None of that was necessary on this night as the Cyclones (7-2 TRC, 17-6 overall) held East to 3-for-21 shooting from beyond the arc and also discouraged points in the paint with six blocked shots.
