It was as close to on-point as Elizabethton’s junior varsity could get.
Outside of one broken pass play, that led to a score, the Cyclones were a thorn in Daniel Boone’s side for four quarters Monday, allowing 56 total offensive yards (10 rushing) in a 26-7 victory at Brown-Childress Stadium.
“Our defense played really, really well,” said Elizabethton coach Josh Boatman. “We know they are a run heavy team. We challenged our interior guys to step up to the challenge. We did a great job spiking the line, our linebackers flew to the ball really, really well and our secondary guys did as well.”
