BLUFF CITY — Trailing by a point with under a minute remaining, the Elizabethton Cyclones needed a basket to take the lead.
Unfortunately, that bucket never came while Sullivan East knocked down seven consecutive free throws at the end of its exciting 64-59 win in Three Rivers Conference basketball action.
In a game the Patriots (5-7 overall, 1-3 TRC) led from start to finish the Cyclones began to whittle away at the deficit in the third period, closing a nine-point gap to a single point late in the fourth quarter.

The “twin terrors” Kayla and Kelci Marosites combined for 30 of the Lady Cyclones 64 points, but it was tenacious defense and rebounding that most contributed to the easy victory.
EHS (9-1, 3-0) forced East into 20 turnovers with 10 of those coming on steals and some easy layups for the Cyclones.
