KINGSPORT — Elizabethton’s boys came out flat and could never recover.
A deficit as large as 16 was trimmed to eight in the closing minutes, but the hump was insurmountable as the Cyclones were dealt a 63-55 Three Rivers Conference setback at Sullivan South Friday night.
Colton Young scored a game-high 18 points, while Evan Headrick and Dalton light tallied 12 apiece to lead the Rebels, who surged to sole possession of the league lead with the win.
Zeke Clark and Austin Cornett each paced the Cyclones with 14 points each. Bo Pless added 10.
