Cyclones overcome Sullivan East, 7-5

A five-run first inning almost became a curse for Elizabethton. After withstanding a Sullivan East surge, the Cyclones buckled down and got it done.
Clutch hits from Quincy Jackson and Eric Carter in the bottom of the sixth were matched in the defensive field one stanza later as Elizabethton rallied past the Patriots 7-5 under the lights Wednesday at Joe O’Brien Field.
Jackson opened the frame with a triple to right center and crossed the plate on a throwing error from the Patriot mound. Chris Lanthorn, who reached on the mistake, stole second and third to set up Carter’s two-out RBI single to right for the final outcome.
