‘Betsy flooded them with 11 runs in the sixth inning in its 20-10 win at Joe O’Brien Field.

Unaka had taken a 10-9 advantage in the top half, but was thin on pitching at that point. Head coach Tee Blevins rolled the dice and elected to save his top hurlers for their showdown with North Greene on Friday.

“We had to bring in a couple of young arms late in the game,” said Blevins. “But we walked a lot of batters early in the game to. If we make a couple of defensive plays in the last inning we would have given ourselves a chance to hit. But I’m pleased for the most part with the way we hit the ball against one of the two teams in 1-AA. We now have our pitching lined up for Friday’s game with North Greene.”
