One of Elizabethton’s big chiefs was on the warpath after losing at Sullivan South on Friday. And a repeat performance would not occur as he turned Bayless Gymnasium into his “happy” hunting ground on Tuesday.
The Cyclones used a 23-point performance from Tyler Nichols to help bury Happy Valley 78-36. The large margin of victory was much needed for head coach Lucas Honeycutt and his squad.
“We upped our schedule with Science Hill, and Hampton is having a fantastic year,” said Honeycutt. “It felt good to relax in the fourth quarter and get some young kids into the game. Our league is so tough night in and night out that you welcome a game like this. We just weren’t expecting it. Happy Valley’s been playing pretty good.”
