Daniel Boone tops EHS soccer team

By

The sloppy, wet track at Brown-Childress Stadium on Friday favored a straightahead attack and fit Daniel Boone like a glove as the Trail Blazers scored a decisive 4-0 win over Elizabethton in a non-region match soccer match.
The conditions obviously bothered the Cyclones ( 5-4-1 overall), who have now dropped two straight — and at least three EHS players suffered injury to some degree in the cold and rain.
Starting goalkeeper Darion Simerly had to be carried off the field with an injury to his right ankle as he made a stop on a hard-charging Blazers attacker. Senior GK/striker Luke Broyles was brought in and he already has knee issues that the cold weather makes more difficult.
