DAR learns importance of preserving history

The Julius Dugger Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution met at the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. until past noon.

Rituals were conducted by Rebecca Palmer and Lois Shults in the absence of Regent Sue Peters, who lost her brother, Fred Wetzel, recently.

Secretary Query gave the message from President General Merry Ann Wright, reminding us of the greatness of our United States Constitution, ratified on Sept. 17, 1787, at the Constitutional Convention at Philadelphia after months of debate.
