Dino Senesi was perhaps best known to most people for his lasagna. He was the founder and namesake of Dino’s Restaurant in Elizabethton, and that is where a historical marker says the first lasagna in Northeast Tennessee was served.
However, Dino brought more than lasagna to Elizabethton. He brought good will, and was an ardent supporter of the Elizabethton Boys and Girls Club. In fact, the club’s annual golf tournament is named for Senesi because of his service and many contributions to the youth of the Elizabethton community.
John Malone, director of the Elizabethton Boys and Girls Club, said upon learning of Senesi’s death Tuesday that it was “truly a said day in this city.”
