District 1-AA ready to start at EHS

The District 1-AA basketball tournament will begin play today at Elizabethton High School, with three games on tap. The winners of those games will gain an automatic berth into next week’s regional tournament, which will also be played inside of A.L. John Treadway Gymnasium.
Several fans have voiced their displeasure for not having the games at a neutral site, but it’s Elizabethton’s turn to host. Next year’s site could be at Sullivan East, with Unicoi County to follow. It makes a cycle until all conference teams have had a chance to host. Then the process starts over.
