A celebration-of-life service will be held today for an Elizabethton woman who died in a Sunday morning fire, and a fund has been established to aid family members.
Lynn Valley Baptist Church is accepting monetary donations to help the family recover from the tragedy that took the life of 52-year-old Tracy Parsons, who is believed to have died after attempting to warn her daughter and grandson to get out of the house.
The family lost all its possessions in the blaze.
Anyone who would like to make a donation may send a check to Bill Parsons, Lynn Valley Baptist Church, 1367 Broad St., Elizabethton, TN 37643. The checks should be made out to Bill Parsons, Tracy’s husband, but sent to the church, which will administer the funds.
The Parsons family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport. The celebration-of-life service will follow at 7 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport.
