Dr. Earl Davis will begin his duties as the interim pastor for First Baptist Church of Elizabethton on Sunday, March 3.
Interim work is a passion of Davis’. This will be his 11th such assignment since his retirement from full-time ministry in 2001 and he says he is looking forward to his new role at First Baptist.|
“I make it my goal to leave a church better than I found it,” Davis said. “The interim period, the 12-18 months it takes to find a new pastor, is sometimes when the Spirit dips and my aim is to not let that happen. I’m looking forward to getting to know the people here, the leadership groups and see where the church is and what it needs.”
Davis says he will build on the church’s already-successful blended service concept and will emphasize preaching and teaching during his time there.
A native of Florida, Davis has spent the majority of his professional life in Tennessee.
