There are 510 teams nationwide that compete at the 11U Major division, and the Crusaders are currently ranked 26th in the nation with a 32-13 record — having won six of the 12 tournaments in which they have played.

The Crusaders won four straight games on Sunday to claim the NIT championship, defeating the Union County Vipers out of south Charlotte 7-3, Lehigh Valley Stealth (Allentown, Pa.) 9-4, West Forsyth Diamond Dawgs (Atlanta) 4-1 in the semifinals and the Indiana Bulls 15-10 for the title.
