E-Twins strike out 15 times, but win

DANVILLE — It may end up being a day late and a dollar short, but the Elizabethton Twins are trying to keep pace for a playoff spot in the Appalachian League race.
They did so with a 4-3 win over Danville on Wednesday, completing a four-game sweep of the Braves.
Bumping back above the .500 mark (27-26), the Twins have won five in a row and eight of their last nine.
This one wasn’t easy.
The Danville pitching staff struck out 15 Elizabethton batters and outhit the Twins 9-8.
But the Braves couldn’t overcome a three-run first by the Twins.
