E-Twins take measure of Kingsport

KINGSPORT — It was like Christmas on the first day of July.

EtwinsElizabethton took advantage of a gift-wrapped effort from the Mets pitching staff and kept its league-best record intact.

Despite being outhit 12-7, the Twins didn’t need much help to wrap the series over Kingsport — using 11 walks, four wild pitches and one fielding error by the host Mets to take an 8-4 decision in the rain-delayed rubber game Monday at Hunter Wright Stadium.
