Earthquake shakes Elizabethton


The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a 4.3 magnitude earthquake shook the region around noon Saturday.

The earthquake was centered in southeast Kentucky, about eight miles from the town of Whitesburg, but was felt throughout northeast Tennessee, including in Elizabethton and Carter County.

No injuries or damage have been reported.
