East Side, West Side, Happy Valley elementaries rank in state’s top 5

Three elementary schools in Carter County have been recognized as 2011-2012 Reward Schools for being in the top 5 percent in Tennessee for student progress and performance.

The Carter County schools that were recognized with the award were East Side Elementary and West Side Elementary in the Elizabethton City School System and Happy Valley Elementary in the Carter County School System. East Side Elementary and Happy Valley Elementary were recognized for student progress and West Side Elementary was recognized for student progress and student performance.
