EHS baseball starts with victory

BLUFF CITY— A young and energetic team of Cyclones showed a lot savvy in knocking off Sullivan East on Monday. Elizabethton scored four runs in the third inning, then held off the Patriots 4-3 in a five-inning contest shortened due to rain at Rutherford Field.
’Betsy got a stellar performance on the mound from its sophomore sizzling southpaw Dylan Richardson, who shut out the Pats for four innings.
And his teammates provided him a four-run cushion in the top half of the third.
The big blow was a two-run single by Lucas Hurley. Thomas Miller also provided an RBI base hit in the inning. Quincy Jackson, Anthony Ward and Eric Carter delivered base hits and scored as well.
