EHS, East split in freshman basketball

By

The current first- and second-place teams at the girls varsity level in the Three Rivers Conference are scheduled to tango tonight. Their freshman counterparts first put on a show Monday night.

Elizabethton held off a ferocious 10-4 rally by the Lady Patriots in the fourth quarter to come away with a 40-38 decision in the first part of a doubleheader at West Side Elementary School in Carter County.

In boys action, the Cyclones put up a fight late but could not overcome their first-half deficit to fall 60-41.

The Cyclones and Patriots are set to meet in junior varsity and varsity action tonight at Treadway Gymnasium.
