EHS tennis has reason for optimism

Optimism is high for the Elizabethton tennis program this spring.
Recent weather conditions haven’t allowed Coach Ken Hardin to set the seedings. The early going will be a work in progress, with most practice thus far taking place indoors.
“I think the boys will be very competitive,” Hardin said. “We could win the (Three Rivers) conference if we play up to our capability.”
The Lady Cyclones are the defending District 1-A/AA champions. Elizabethton’s boys were runner-up a year ago to Unicoi County, which went on to capture the state title.
There were no Cyclones to advance to Murfreesboro in 2012. Former EHS star Amanda Pike is also on the coaching staff.
