Elizabethton 13s rally late, but can’t pull out state tournament win

By

JOHNSON CITY—The youngsters from across the state know how to put on a show during little league postseason play.
The Elizabethton Babe Ruth 13-year-old baseball team saw their season come to a close after a dramatic seventh-inning rally fell just short to the Lebanon All-Stars 7-6 in front of a packed house at Johnson City’s Roller Field on Sunday evening during state tournament action.
Lebanon jumped on the board in the early going, with Daven Doe knocking in a baserunner of a RBI single with the bases juiced. Andrew Harper would follow right behind with an RBI walk, but the Elizabethton fellas would hold serve and escape the inning with just three hits and two runs.
