Elizabethton Airport receives $375,000 for improvements

The Elizabethton Municipal Airport is the recipient of one of 20 Tennessee airports approved for federal and state aeronautic grants totaling $18.3 million.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the Elizabethton Airport will receive $15,000 for obstruction tree clearing on Runway 6; $300,000 to repair and strengthen the main terminal ramp; and $60,000 to upgrade and replace the main hangar door.
