Shutouts aren’t becoming that uncommon for the Elizabethton Twins, but even Monday night’s outcome was quite bizarre.
While three pitchers combined to blank the Greeneville Astros in a 2-0 Appalachian League decision, the only offense was produced on one wild fielding display in the fourth. Bryan Harr had singled and stole second base, before Rory Rhodes roped a run-scoring shot.
Then, Greeneville center fielder Tanner Mathis was wild on a throw to the infield, before catcher Cristian Moronta heaved the baseball into the outfield as Rhodes crossed home plate.
