EPD arrests two on drug charges

Elizabethton police said two were arrested Wednesday at a Jordan Road home raided by officers where drugs, cash and guns were seized.

According to information released by the Elizabethton Police Department, Wyatt E. Penrod, 22, 1002 Jordan Road, and Jacob Deutschmann, 20, 102 Mountain Hollow Court, Elizabethton, were arrested and transported to the Carter County Jail.

Penrod was charged with possession of Schedule I controlled narcotics, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance for resale, possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of a controlled substance.

Deutschmann was charged with simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During a search of the home, officers reported finding large quantities of marijuana, a small amount of hallucinogenic mushrooms, currency and several firearms.

Penrod and Deutschmann are scheduled to appear in Carter County General Sessions Court on April 1.
