Ethel C. Carmack

NEWLAND, N.C. — Ethel Celia Carmack, 74, formerly of Roan Mountain, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Life Care Center of Banner Elk. A native of Carter County, she was born a daughter of the late Otis Ephrim and Laura Lyons Potter. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Carmack, whom she worked side by side with at their Auto Repair shop they owned in Crossville, Tenn.; brother, James Potter; and sisters, Louise Day and Martha Cron.

Ethel has left to cherish her memory: her son, Cash J. Carmack of Johnson City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Cheyanne Carmack of Crossville, Tenn., and Gabriel Carmack of Johnson City, Tenn.; brother, Dale Potter and wife Judy of Crossnore, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ethel Celia Carmack will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, September 16, at the Rhododendron Chapel in Roan Mountain, Tenn., with Rev. Mike Haley officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 17, in the Lacey Cemetery.
