Finals set for seventh-grade tournament

Johnson County’s boys rolled into the seventh grade basketball tournament championship on Thursday night, while Hampton pulled out a squeaker over home-standing Happy Valley.
The Longhorns were victorious in a 64-33 rout of Cloudland. Hampton edged the Warriors 37-36.
On the girls’ side, Unaka and Chuckey-Doak are in this evening’s final. The Rangers prevailed over Cloudland in the semifinals 36-29, while Chuckey-Doak took the Lady Warriors 36-19.
Action begins with the third-place games today beginning at 4, to be followed by the championships at Happy Valley Middle School.
