First Utility District announces repair work for this Monday
The First Utility District of Carter County is advising customers within their service area about repair work this Monday. The water utility is scheduled to make repairs to service lines beginning tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.
Penny Pierce with the First Utility District said customers in the Airport Road and Hunter Elementary areas, along with residents near Stoney Creek Road will be without water while work crews conduct the repairs. In addition, Pierce noted that customers in the Lynn Valley area of Carter County may also experience a water outage at some point Monday. She added, “We’re not sure if Lynn Valley will be affected or not, but we still wanted to give those customers a heads up about the possibility of losing water service while we conduct the repairs.”
Many businesses in the First Utility District have already been contacted about Monday’s water outage. Pierce said stores and other businesses were advised earlier in the month about the interruption in water service.
While Pierce said First Utility District repair crews will continue to work until they complete the project, she did not have an exact timeframe on how long they anticipate the outage to last. “It’s really hard to say how much time it will take. I can assure you our crews will work very hard to complete the job as quickly as possible,” Pierce commented.
Monday’s water outage will allow work crews to make repairs to service lines and add larger meter boxes throughout the First Utility District.
