For Force, working alongside daughters a real delight

By

BRISTOL — With two daughters racing on the same quarter-mile this weekend, Father’s Day was already shaping up to be extra special for John Force.
“So many years I was always gone from my kids on the road and a lot of Father’s Days and Mother’s Days I missed and now they’re here with me,” Force said Saturday at Bristol Dragway. “It means a lot.”
Interestingly enough, the 64-year-old, 15-time NHRA Funny Car champion, who has been mired in a 31-race winless streak will start today’s Ford Thunder Valley Nationals eliminations in the sixth qualifying position side-by-side daughter Courtney in the 11th spot.
Courtney is in her second year running the Traxxas Funny Car, while third daughter Brittany made her debut this season as pilot of the Castrol Edge Top Fuel.
