ABINGDON, Va. — It was like a reprint of “My Little Blue Scoring Book” that many of us read in the first grade. Only this time Phillip Garland played the part of Flip.
See Phillip run, said the Warrior fans. See him run fast. The Falcons fans probably echoed those same words — because they got to see Phillip run fast, too.
They saw him run for 332 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries in Happy Valley’s 28-26 win over Abingdon on Friday night. Garland and his teammates amassed 453 yards on the ground while picking up their second straight win. They also overcame a 13-0 first-quarter deficit.
