Goudy charged in 2011 shooting

Local authorities say a man stabbed himself last year to cover up a murder scene at a residence along Reynolds Road.

 

Israel Benjamin Goudy, 32, was taken into custody Friday by the Carter County Sheriff’s Department and charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Investigators say Goudy shot Larry Wayne Whittaker, 55, on Oct. 17, 2011, and then stabbed himself to make it look like self-defense.
