A 14th-round pick out of Seton Hall University this past June, Zach Granite has made the transition from collegiate star to major league prospect for the Elizabethton Twins.
The lefty-swinging Granite has been a solid contributor to a Twins squad this season both as a leadoff hitter and defensively in center field, and that has come as no surprise to his father, Joe.
“Zach has always been a winner,” said the elder Granite. “In high school he led his team to the city championship, and at Seton Hall he exceeded expectations every year. He has always been a team player and he proved that when he was asked to pitch his senior year, which is something he had never done. But he did great and helped lead his school to the championship.”
