From tutoring assistance to an inmates’ garden to a cemetery fence, seven Carter County projects have a firmer foundation thanks to a local community organization.

Seven non-profit agencies in Carter County have been awarded grants totaling $10,000 by the Elizabethton/Carter County Community Foundation.

The grant recipients will be honored at a private reception on Nov. 13, 2013.

Grants will be awarded to the Elizabethton/Carter County Boys and Girls Club, Carter County government, Cloudland High School, East Tennessee Spay and Neuter, Friends of Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area, The Shepherd’s Inn and the Watauga Historical Association.
