GREENEVILLE — Come model and show off your taste in fashion at the 2012 Wool & Woolies Revue Event at the Greene County Fair! This event is Wednesday, Aug. 15. Participants will join in practice at 2 p.m. and the Revue “Show” begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Livestock Show barn.
Registration forms are due by Monday, Aug. 13, at 5 p.m. in the Greene County Extension Office.
The Wool and Woolies Revue is a modeling activity that showcases youth, wool garments and the wool producer — sheep!
Participants lead a registered ewe or market lamb which has been conditioned, fitted and trained to show at halter. The sheep does not have to be owned by the entrant. The Sheep Show Superintendent will provide a sheep. The entrant wears a garment made of wood or of wool blend. The garment does not have to be constructed by the entrant. Wool garments and accessories may be found at your local thrift stores.
Judging is by age group; based on their: garment, poise and appearance, and how well they present the sheep. The five classes range in ages from toddler (with supervising adult) to age 21. This event is open any youth, male or female, regardless of 4-H membership.
