GREENEVILLE — By the time Elizabethton found an answer for Greeneville, it was too late.
With senior quarterback Zack Finchum guiding the ship via a ground and air attack, the Devils raced to a 35-7 halftime lead and sped by the Cyclones 49-20 in Friday’s Class 4-A second round tilt at Burley Stadium.
Early mistakes and penalties doomed Elizabethton from the onset as the Devils were dealt good field position on their first two drives and sliced their way into the end-zone for a 14-0 lead at the end of one. The Devils added two more touchdowns before the Cyclones found the scoreboard.
