Hampton girls roar past Crockett

By

GRAY — The injury bug that has taken a bite out of the Lady Bulldogs this season had little effect on Thursday afternoon in the Johnson City Honda Invitational at Snyder gym as Hampton dominated David Crockett 73-35.

The Lady ‘Dogs have lost senior post Paige Montgomery with a knee injury, sophomore post Madi Weir to a broken leg and that is just the tip of the iceberg as the status of head coach Leon Tolley is still very much an unknown.

Junior guard Alexis Bowers scored 19 of her game high 22 points in the first half as Hampton (8-4 overall) built a 40-25 halftime advantage with freshman Alexis Grubbs chipping in with eight of her 10 points in the opening half.
