Hampton meth lab suspect captured in Elizabethton

A man who deputies say fled the scene of a suspected methamphetamine lab in Hampton was captured early the next morning in the Elizabethton High School parking lot.

Deputies from the Carter County Sheriff’s Department responded to 105 Betty St., Hampton, Sunday at 4 p.m. after a report of a fight. Witnesses told officers Dustin Caleb Potter, 29, was involved in the altercation, came out of a residence on Bailey Street with a blue backpack and put it into a white Chevrolet Cavalier parked at 105 Bailey St., directly behind the residence he exited.
