Happy Valley’s girls rolled, big-time.
The Lady Warriors throttled Tri-Cities Christian 97-27 at Bayless Gym on Tuesday night as the high school basketball season opened.
“They played hard, and everybody that come in off the bench contributed tonight and did a good job,” Happy Valley coach Larry Abel said of his players. “The starters didn’t get a whole lot of minutes tonight, but the bench come in and played real well. Good execution, good shooting and a lot of assists tonight — very impressed by all of the assists.”

The Warriors stormed back from 18 points down, cutting the deficit to two in the final minute, only to fall short.
“We shot it extremely poor,” Happy Valley coach Chuck Babb said. “We took some shots that weren’t bad shots. We didn’t knock them down.
“We’d been doing that. You can’t shoot that poorly and not be behind.”
