Heat believed cause of death in two Tennessee children
SMYRNA (AP) — Two small children have been found dead in a driveway in Smyrna, possible victims of heat stroke.
WTVF-TV reports that police found them just before 4 p.m. Thursday. Temperatures were in the mid-90s at the time in the Rutherford County town just southeast of Nashville.
Police Sgt. Bobby Gibson said the bodies were found outside a car in a circle driveway and they appeared to have been pulled from it. The names, genders and ages of the children have not been released, but officials said the two were related.
It was not immediately known where the parents were.
The deaths remained under investigation.
