How do I submit a Letter to the Editor? Click here to submit your letter to the editor.

Why are there articles in the printed version of the Star that are not in the online edition? Not all articles (example: weddings, anniversaries, birthday photos, engagements) are placed in the online edition. When an article is submitted to the Star by individuals, there is an option for the customer to choose to have it placed on the web. If you do not find the article you are looking for, the person has chosen not to have it placed on the web.

Why is my computer showing an outdated version of the Star website?You need to 'Refresh' or 'Reload' your browser. Your computer is reading the website from a saved version. To save on download time, the computer saves a copy of the website to an area called a 'cache'. Unless you refresh your web browser the computer will keep using the saved version of the website. It is very important to make sure you refresh your browser everytime you visit a website where the information is updated often.

When do you update the Star website?The Star website is updated Monday-Friday. We strive to update the content as soon as possible. Because we are now and afternoon paper this does not occur until after 12 pm. each day. Sunday's news is included in the Monday update. The website is not updated on holidays.

How do I advertise in the Star online edition?
Our website traffic has grown more than 100% each year since we went online more than 6 years ago. The Star's website is the most popular and most visited site in Elizabethton and Carter County. Why? Because we have dedicated ourselves to becoming the information source for all of Elizabethton and Carter County. How do I place a classified line ad in the Star? Our classified deparment is staffed with several full time employees to meet your needs. We invite you to come by our office or call 542-1530

How do I get a copy of a photo I have seen in the printed edition or online edition of the Star?Reprints of the photos we have on the Star website are available from the Photography department for $10.00. Each reprint is offered in several sizes ranging from 3x5 up to 24x36. Please come by the Star office at 300 Sycamore St., Elizabethton or call (423) 542-4151 to purchase a copy of the desired photo.

How can I advertise my business in the Star's newspaper?The Elizabethton Star goes out to more than 32,000 viewers every day in Elizabethton and Carter County. We reach more people in our area than any other local publication. If you would like to advertise your business in our newspaper please call Shirley Nave at 542-1539.

How can I get a subscription to the Star? The Star has 3 month, 6 month and 1 year subscriptions. We offer discounts to senior citizens and military personel. Simply call 542-1540 or 542-4151 or click here to fill out a form and one of our Circulation professionals will set you up with a subscription.

How can I get a previous copy of the Star?The Star reserves extra copies of as many editions as we can. You can come by the Star, Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm, and ask for a copy of the edition you need or visit our online archives at archives.starhq.com. Most of our current archives are in PDF format allowing you to download the entire paper in its printed form.

How do I search your archives?
Local News, Sports, Columns, Obituaries and Police Beats archives are located in a special section called "Archives." A link to this section is located on the Home page of the Star Online.
