GREENEVILLE — On a night when South Greene controlled time of possession, Cloudland controlled its destiny. A mammoth first-half performance would propel the Highlanders to a 25-14 win over the Rebels on Friday night to keep their record perfect after eight games.
It spoiled homecoming for the crowd on Rebel Hill that was hoping to see South Greene win its third straight. Instead, they watched the ‘Landers run up a 25-7 halftime lead and shut down their running game for four quarters.
“This is a huge win on the road and our kids did a great job,” said CHS coach Brock Pittman. “It was a hard atmosphere to play in and their coaches did a great job preparing for us. We made the plays when we needed to and we made fewer mistakes than they did. I thought that what it boiled down to. Plus our defense played well, too.”
