Most of Cloudland’s basketball team and its coaching staff were enjoying a pregame meal at Highlander BBQ on Friday afternoon before taking on North Greene. Afterward, they went out and smoked the Huskies to a tune of 72-27 inside of Sonny Smith Gymnasium.
The Huskies (0-7, 12-12) drew first blood and went up 3-0 on a trey by Tanner Collins. From there, Cloudland went on a 14-0 run and the bleeding never stopped.
“That’s the type of defensive intensity that we’ve been looking for,” said CHS coach Brandon Carpenter. “They had that look in their eyes before the game and I knew we were ready to play. We were focused and I think that’s the effort that we’ll get from here on out. When you play that hard you’re going to shoot the ball well.”
