Highlanders bury Washburn

Cloudland’s basketball team was riding high on Saturday night, and with good reason.
The Highlanders blasted Washburn 81-37 in the Region 1-A tournament quarterfinals at Sonny Smith Gymnasium.
“I feel very confident that we should go to the state tournament,” Cloudland senior guard Zac Potter said. “If not win it.”
The Highlanders (23-10) await University High (17-12) in the semifinals on Tuesday evening at Chuckey-Doak Middle School with a sub-state berth at stake.
