Firefighters from Stoney Creek, Watauga and Hampton/Valley Forge volunteer fire departments responded to the fire at 115 Joe Hardin Lane in Stoney Creek after a Blue Springs Road resident reported it at 4:30 p.m.

Stoney Creek Fire Department Assistant Chief Scotty Arwood praised all the departments that responded. He said volunteer fire departments are often limited on staff numbers during the day, which can make it more difficult to respond to emergency calls.
